Comment on this statement: “The whole is only as strong as the sum of its parts.” and whether this statement is true for the United Nations.

The whole is only as strong as the sum of its parts. This quote means that every thing together is only as good as all the parts added together. This also means that the parts must be strong as well because if the parts are not strong, than the whole it self, will not be strong. This is true for the U.N. because if the U.N. was only one country, it would not be nations united, and they would get nothing done. This quote is also quite like”United we stand, divided we fall.” It is like this quote because they are both sayings that if the U.N. was all these different countries separately, they would not do well at all, but if they were different countries working together, as a whole, they could do many things for peace, development, human rights, and many more around the world.

    Hey!
I really like the quote”United we stand, divided we fall” because it’s basically the perfect quote to go with what your talking about. GREAT JOB!
